July 23rd update

Hey Company!

Traveling from one city to the next city in East Asia has shown us that there are still different cultures floating amongst the land! We are experiencing the differences between a more rural city that enjoys life and an urban setting that strives in their economy. The buildings are a little more modern and the people are a little less excited to see the “white foreigners!” I believe the area we are in has had the privilege of having a little more economic development than the last town. Overall, we are still fascinated with this growing culture!

Today was day one of the second camp and most of us are finding that we have to change our game plan to fit to their students. Most of the morning was used to assess the students and find out their skill levels. A problem most of the team ran into last week was the differences in skill levels among the students in the classrooms. In one class, you may have one student that could tell you the American Revolution in detail versus another student that was still confused in response to the question, “What is your name?” Most likely, the kid would say, “I’m fine. Thank you.” Argh…

We are trucking along and that is all that matters. We are confident in who we know
and what he has done for us. Our goal is to be excellent in all we do and build relationships with the locals. Be thinking for us in concern to our witness and interactions with people. It is so important that we give off a sweet fragrance and not leave a bitter taste in people’s mouths. We also think of you often, company. You have been such a huge deal of support to us in your thoughts.

Please be thinking that they would see his son in our team interactions. May we see and make most of every opportunity. Please be thankful that everyone is healthy and we have arrived here safely. Think about our team unity in hopes that we would continually be one minded and devoted to thinking.

Love you all so much…

Our prayer for the team today.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
